On 18th August 2012 at the Esplanade Recital Studio, Kris Foundation presented Summer Roses: In Concert with See Ian Ike and Miyuki Washimiya. This special programme was curated in honour of Singapore’s 47th birthday, featuring violinist See Ian Ike - one of the pioneering classical musicians of Singapore’s younger generation.
Our founder Kris has always admired Ike’s stage presence and unique style of performing. This concert brought her attention to recognise the aspirations of Singapore’s next generation of classical musicians, and to establish a platform for them to perform under professional concert conditions, as well as giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents at an early stage in their career.
With this concert, the Kris Foundation Fund was established at the Community Foundation of Singapore. Through Kris Foundation, Kris Tan wishes to support the dreams of young Singaporean musicians and hopes to lead and bring the classical music scene to greater heights.
